The number and frequency of parents’ evenings varies from school to school but at least once a year, you'll have an opportunity a year to meet your child’s teachers. And it pays to be prepared:
- Spend some time with your child before the evening talking about what they’re good at, where they might need help and any concerns they might have.
- Encourage your child to come with you.
- Take some notes during the evening so that you can discuss them afterwards.
- Aim to have some positive steps to take away from the evening that you, your child and the teachers can focus on.
