Welcome to Parent Zone Local for professionals
Firstly, a quick hello. We are Parent Zone – an organisation that works to improve outcomes for children and young people in the digital age. We provide accessible media literacy education and advice for UK families and schools, and work with government and big tech to counter emerging online risks and harms. You can read our story here.
What does Parent Zone Local do?
Put simply, Parent Zone Local is a local information and support service for families. It helps build digital understanding, media literacy and confidence in the online world.
It is supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) media literacy taskforce fund – and is designed for community groups where information and opportunity may be less accessible.
How can Parent Zone Local help YOU?
This is the good stuff. Parents, community groups and professionals (like you) can find free information, events, apps and resources. But what really sets Parent Zone Local apart in your borough is that you will also have the support of your local guide.
Your local guide is working in your community to deliver face-to-face training – including our new Everyday Digital media literacy programme. Your guide will connect you and your communities to the information, advice and support you need.
And you can get in touch with them any time.
Your borough
Your borough has its own dedicated Parent Zone Local service page, with details about your local guide, dates for live events, and information and resources (more in a minute...) which you can use and signpost to parents.
